As usual Jim, Last week you created visual imagery and a brilliant final sentence about two characters who obviously dont' know each other as well as they imagined they did. This gets my vote .
Hesmeth Fent stared grimly at the pallid face staring back at him. “I’m tired of living with you not knowing who you really are. For years I’ve trusted you. Despite the Godforsaken situations you contrived, I believed you’d eventually do right by us. Sometimes you did, but not often enough. Despite your promises to act honorably, your sinister side always loomed too powerfully. “Resultantly, you leave me no choice. I pray that God will have mercy on our soul.” A pair of eyes in the pallid face stared harshly back at Hesmeth as he put the gun to his temple.
Terrie's entry has my vote.

I certainly wouldn't want to get on Atlas's hit list. He doesn't mess around. As always, Terrie, your writing is powerful and elegant.
